Interview Summary
Dr. Ernst Adler, medical doctor and his wife, scientist Dr Regina Kapeller-Adler, emigrated to Edinburgh in 1938, with their daughter Liselotte. Regina came to Edinburgh University to work with Professor Crewe in the Animal Genetics Department – alongside fellow refugee Dr Charlotte Auerbach. Ernst became a GP in Edinburgh. Includes account of refugee community in Edinburgh in 1930s/1940s.
