Interview Summary
Family lived in Wilmersdorf area of Berlin –– David lived for a few years in children’s home in Fehrbelliner Strasse – school life – sent on Kindertransport in November 1938, aged 12 – sent to Glasgow – lived for a time in Garnethill Boys Hostel – evacuated to farm in Perthshire – moved to Skelmorlie Hostel – early working life. Pioneer Corps – British Special Forces (X-troop commandos) – went to Germany as an interpreter and to interrogate German POWs.
